CONCEPT DESIGN
REDDOT DESIGN WINNER 2010

THIS IS A SIMPLE AND ESTHETICAL DESIGN. THE CLOCK, WITH NOTHING BUT A GAP ON THE ITS SURFACE, CAN BE SETTLED ON GLASS WINDOW TO GET SOLAR ENERGY FROM THE CLOCK'S BACK FOR DRIVING ITS ROTATING.

IN THE DAY TIME, SUNLIGHT GOES THROUGH THE GAP AND FORMS THE HOUR HAND TO DISPLAY THE TIME, WHILE IN THE NIGHT, THE LED IN THE INTERLAYER ILLUMINATES AS THE HOUR HAND BY STORED ENERGY IN THE DAY. BATTERY IS NOT REQUIRED, SO IT'S ECO-FRIENDLY AND ENERGY-EFFICIENT.

LIGHT GAP CAN SENSE THE STRENGTH OF LIGHT IN ENVIRONMENT AUTOMATICALLY. AS LONG AS THE SUN LIGHT GOING TO DARK THE LED LIGHT ON LIGHT GAP WILL START LIGHTING GRADUALLY, IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE GAP ALWAYS HAVE LIGHT.
